What makes a PDF different from plain text

A PDF is rarely one tidy block of text. It has pages, chapters, tables and sometimes scans, and each of those changes how you should turn it into study material.

Pages and chapters

A 200-page PDF holds several exams’ worth of material. Work chapter by chapter, or one lecture’s slides at a time, so each summary or deck matches one study session.

Tables and figures

Numbers in tables and labels in diagrams are often what the exam asks. Check them against the original page, and keep the figure captions when you paste text.

Scanned pages
